1st Anniversary for this house

Today is the anniversary of our arrival from Pennsylvania to our house in Virginia.

It took us nearly one year to find a house, after deciding on Virginia and then a particular area. I am from Virginia  and glad to be back.
Four of those months we "camped out" here. We slept on air mattresses, had four mismatched folding chairs at a lopsided table and lived in rather embarrassing style because most of our stuff was packed or left to stage our house in PA for sale. It payed off because we listed in the middle of snow and ice in Western Pa and  had offers pouring in early in the buying season.
Here is what I have accomplished, from a design standpoint, in one year.
This...

and this...
to this!

and this
Yes, this is "the beast" after a makeover

 My dining room...

became this.

Take a gander at this crazy accent wall that was my bedroom.

here it is now.
I am not sponsored by any company but I must tell you that Sherwin-Williams Superpaint covered in one coat. Seriously, pale blue over blood red in one coat. I used two because I'm like that.
If you read my blog regularly you have seen many pictures of my house but I think this may be the first of the outside.
I've done more but it is a post for another day.
I hope you are not tired of the inside.

Oh my goodness! This is amazing! I love seeing before and afters! You have done an amazing job with the colours in the living room. They are right up my alley. I love the eclectic mix of bright, bold, modern and classic. The cushions, curtains, lamp, dresser... the little touch of Bohemian in the ottoman. I love it all!!!!!

It's great to have before shots as occasional proof, if only to ourselves, of all of our accomplishments. It looks like you've made a lot of great progress in making the house your home!

What a wonderful transformation in all of these rooms. Can hardly believe the difference in the sofa!

Has it really been a whole year? It's amazing what a difference a coat (only 1 in this case) will do!

I'm at the beginning of my design journey at yet another new house. I can't wait to get to your stage! Will be following so I don't miss anything!
