Your opinion?

I am asking for completely honest opinions. The nude above generated a fair amount of activity on Pinterest and subsequently in my Etsy shop. I am doing a slightly larger version of it for an upcoming regional juried exhibition.
I realize that abstracts aren't everyone's cup of tea but they really make me happy to paint and to look at.
The nudes, which technically are abstractions, were just an experiment. They have proved to be a lucrative one but they are as close to realism as I want to paint.
This one sold within hours of my listing it.

This painting of mine has been popular but still has not sold.
Tell me your opinion of this...

it is another of my abstracts.
What do you love or hate about it?
If you feel odd about a negative comment--don't. I have a thick skin and just want some input.

You beautiful nudes and the one abstract have soft colors. I am not drawn to the dark colors and what looks like (to me) an angry face on the right. I guess it doesn't feel as soothing as the others?

I am not a lover of abstracts but, I do love the first image...the nude. I love the colors you used especially the blue with the brown and white. It is beautiful!

Linda-- That's actually a really helpful comment. I don't necessarily go for things that are pretty and harmonious first. If they are it is a bonus but I look for something that excites me rather than a calming feel. Its good to know what others look for.

I love the nudes, and I love number three too but less so with the last one, possibly because of the defined angles it doesn't flow as much as the other abstract which is really stunning.

I love abstracts!! I prefer no angles, like in the last one where there are shapes and angles. I love your second to last painting - love! The way the colors softly blend and harmoniously contrast. My only thought for why it hasn't sold is because, while I adore it for this reason, maybe it's hard for people to understand that they can use pink in rooms besides those only for girls.
I really like gestural sketches, I think they are called, as in your third to last painting. I like those images to be really abstracted also, but in those cases don't mind recognizing what the shape portrays. I really like it when the colors are abstracted, like watercolors, around the sketch. The first one is beautiful but too identifiable of a shape for me.

So happy that I found your blog!
