Room of the week

Today I decided to find a remarkable bedroom and, well, remark.

I love bedrooms with calm colors but if there is nothing interesting, I just can't get into it.
This room has the architectural canopy with pleated fabric that reads (to me) as very traditional and a little fussy. It continues the solid fabric in rather modern panels serving as a headboard. On that is a wee antique portrait. It works so well.
I love the juxtaposition of clean lines, ornately carved pieces and textural fabrics. That Greek key bed skirt doesn't  hurt either.

Do you prefer bright, bold bedrooms or or neutral and serene?

Beautiful image. I like a bedroom that is neutral mainly because I need something soothing to bring me back down to earth each night. As an artist you may relate to us seeing bright colors all day long....I also love lamps with a those yellow-gold bulbs. It helps the mood and you can still read with them. Our room has mostly soft teals, tans, sort of that spa feel. I don't think I will ever get tired of anything blue-green-blue blue blue... ; ) Good morning Kerry!

Hi Kerry! I love more serene designs for the master bedroom. The Greek key bed skirt is amazing!

This is so sophisticated. I love the art hung on the headboard. These days, I want more serene. I know that will change.

Well you know my bedroom is pretty vibrant shade of jade green. I love color and it makes me feel happy when I wake up. Most days.

Neutral and serene for me too since I want my bedroom to be calming. Love this room especially that portrait in the middle!
