Room of the week

Yes! A resounding "Yes" to the layered art, the rug, and the mid-century piece but something is making me uncomfortable. I feel like it is one of my teenagers' rooms and I want to say ,"Get that crap up off the floor!" Lived in is cool, junk piled under a dresser is not. Am I right?

That is funny! Almost like they shoved the extra books under there for the photo shoot not thinking it would be seen...

Totally right. That's exactly what I was thinking too.

It is really distracting from the beautiful elements of this room!

I agree!
The mess under the chest is ridiculous!

The purpose of the junk is probably to show the space as comfortable and lived in, but I agree, too much mess is distracting and does not add to the cozy-ness of a room.

Agree completely! A bit to lived in. But the bones of the composition are wonderful!

Wow - my heart skipped a beat when you said you are thinking about staining the cabinets. I was a bit sad when you said you wanted to paint them, but figured it's your house and was happy to play along with the color game. I hope staining works out - they are gorgeous.
