Room of the week

I am sure you are thinking, WTF, Kerry.  I never called this "prettiest room of the week".
Truth is that I am feeling a little ornery and wanted to post this to show you that its not a new idea to use books with color-coordinated covers as decor. Its an old stupid idea.
I confess I am guilty of it. I did it in my daughter's room, so it's her fault.
Thoughts?

Such a dark room! The books give it a bit of color! (But wondering why the upper shelf wasn't color coordinated?)

so weird I wonder what they are because there are normal books above -they look like the readers digest editions -remember those?! I see them all the time at estate sales.
I kind of actually love this room - the lamp is awesome and the brown/blue combo is really one of my favorites -haha. Just replace the hifi with a flat screen tv!

They say there are no new ideas in design, only versions of existing ideas. I love the tray table and straight lines on the sofa.

I can see Don Draper sitting across this cabinet. Covered books? haven't done it but I've seen lots covered in just white.

I just laughed over this post- the image and your writing was hilarious. Thanks for being ornery and real! Bravo on the art- I had no clue! It's fabulous!!

Love it when a blogger speaks her truth! I think the covered books are too contrived. (But then, I don't like wine glasses with napkins inserted for effect.) Ornery is good!

LOL. I’ll take the color of the book covers on the lower shelf and maybe the copper kettles but leave the rest of the room for the photo album. Where did you find that pic, Kerry?
