7 fun, fresh Chinoiserie fabrics

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you will have seen my fabric designs before.
My Escher pagoda and "Tea caddy" were a fun way to take actual antiques that I own and turn them into modern, and fresh looks. I have used several around my house and lately I am inspired to dream up a few new ones based on my great-grandmother's antiques.

It seems that I am not the only one up to the same thing. The much blogged about Dana Gibson for Stroheim delightfully captures the tradition in Chinoiserie motifs in a cheerful, stylish manner. If you have not browsed her site you really are missing out.

Co-founder of O'verlays, Danika Herrick has a few incredible Chinoiserie fabrics also.
Her "Trellis" design is a friendly bamboo fretwork array that I have been hunting a spot for in my house. "Cloud Pagoda" by Danika Herrick comes in quite a few colorways but my favorite is the orange/pink.

Are you totally crushing on this updated Chinoiserie look too?

The obligatory wishlist

HERE

I have a relatively small Christmas wishlist this year. It must mean that I am truly blessed because I really feel that I have most things I want and 1500 square feet of flooring won't fit in Santa's sleigh.
I did spy a few goodies that you can never really have too many of.
My watch collection consists of dated styles and gifts from old boyfriends or husbands so a classic Timex would be welcome.

A Christina Baker won't be under my tree but I am in line for one in January or February. The girl is busy! I bet you want one too.

Pretty things are always on my list but I want something to play with too.
This molecular gastronomy kit looks like so much fun and I can pretend I am dining at The French Laundry right here in Virginia.

In all actuality, my present won't be under the tree. I think we are losing the ghetto faucet situation in my kitchen in favor of this, Yay!
What's on your list?
