Room of the week


We all know the fabulous Miles Redd and this is a much seen Miles room.
It occurred  to me that the chair hoarders among us (I might be the Queen of chair hoarding) would take comfort in the disparate yet lovely collection in this room.
I think its best to refer to the habit as "chair collecting". Those without a discerning eye call it hoarding.

    Yes! I have all sorts and I have to validate it to my husband as we might need extra seats for parties...I think it is a basic and primal need to seat properly and different seating for different moods no?

    One of my all time favorite rooms I think because of those glossy blue walls, inks of orange and turquoise and lime green! wow, you hardly notice the chairs. I am a chair collector as well, but I am running out of room. Have a great day and good luck with the dramatic weather today...xo Nancy

    I think it's a very cool room but if I had created it, I would think it was a mess. It's hard for me to understand why it works.

    I love this room so much, but that is absolutely hilarious about the "chair collection"! My husband was ready to put me on a 12-step program when we moved last fall. He actually counted my massive "chair collection," which was a pretty sobering experience... 84 to be exact... and he just reminded me that this didn't include the sofas. Yeah, I think I might officially be a hoarder!

    So much color in this room! And I love the "chevron" floor. And all the rich velvets.
    I wish I had more room to be a chair hoarder. I do have a lot, though.

    I would love to have walls smooth enough to put a glossy treatment on them. Love so many of the layering details in this room.
