Office space

One constant in my adult life, has been the battle against paper clutter. The danger in tucking them away is, for me, completely and totally forgetting about important papers.
I had plans for complete and total organization in this department with the addition of built-in cabinets and shelves in my library. The arrival of an additional teenager put those plans on hold, at least for the next 155 days. Yes, am counting down until the room  (and my life) is mine again.
The plans change in my slightly every time I see great office spaces.

I have always wanted a Wassily chair.

I need some serious storage too.

So many spaces, while appealing, seem unrealistic in terms of storage and work space.

This cute little nook is more like what I am working with now. It involves lots of juggling piles of papers with no real place to put them.

How do you keep the paper clutter in check?

  2. I'm sorry, I understand how frustrating it is when plans are put on hold. We keep too many papers around here, too. The world is going paperless...but not us.

  3. The massive amounts of junk mail and extra catalogs do not help either! I fight it everyday. I try to keep it all on my desk and in my office and not anywhere else around the house at least.
Love the top 3 office images, and YOUR DESK!

  4. It is really difficult to get a handle on paper clutter. I have a filing system set up and try as I might just taking the little bit of time to file it daily is hard. I go through my mail and clutter everyday and toss out junk mail and magazines right away if it is something I don't think I would be interested in. :)

  6. This is a big problem for me. I hate dealing with it and I'm a procrastinator. To add to my problem, my filing cabinets and computer equipment are in a corner of our unfinished basement and I'm not exactly excited to get down there to deal with it all. My oldest is planning to leave the nest within a few months which means the younger will move up to her bedroom leaving a bedroom on the main level for me to take over as an office. Excited. Sorry for such a long comment.

  10. Paper is my enemy. I have such ADD and cannot seem to be in control of the paper in the house. It develops into "hell piles."

  13. I’d like to share how I keep the paper clutter in check in my office. Dealing with paper clutter is definitely not easy; no matter what you do there will always be paper clutter. The best way to lessen it is to have separate storage for every outgoing and incoming paper. Classify and label the papers, and make your own regular de-cluttering routine. I hope these few tips will lessen the clutter in your office space! +Clayton Steadham
