Let me talk to him, I can get him to hang the tv- we had the same dilemna here, and we got a professional to hang ours on brick. It really can be seamless, and you can always patch the hole when/if you move, no biggie, really. I know your room and that this is really the best place for the tv, right? We can make it work!
xo NancyAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04880451168189671638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908660775553052007.post-24357532169079769972013-10-23T13:54:49.735-04:002013-10-23T13:54:49.735-04:00Loving the cabinet. That piece is too fab for the tv to be a distraction from its beauty. Mounting the tv should fix that.Staceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17999935218567196423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908660775553052007.post-19898236795652992472013-10-21T18:41:44.166-04:002013-10-21T18:41:44.166-04:00I think I agree with Jennifer. You may want to put all the boxes inside the console and use that area as part of the total composition. Something tall with visual weight. I notice the air return grill there so you may want to put a small chair or item that fits the composition. I think moving the whole thing to the right will distract from the railings that you don't like, as well.Elizabeth "Libby" Dayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17145264016754286426noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908660775553052007.post-14739036387296733852013-10-21T14:08:49.636-04:002013-10-21T14:08:49.636-04:00I'm with Jennifer. It uses artwork that has visual weight that helps balances the large black square of the TV. Without that black matted piece and the other think frame, I don't think it would work as well.

I've always thought painting a dark band of color on the wall -and using that as a design element - where the TV sits on it would be an interesting way to deal with it. You have great inspiration photos,a gallery wall around or behind it is definitely in order.

I'm actually doing a gallery wall for the TV in my son's room for the ORC, but that's something I will share on the reveal.
